MDW recap

We had the annual pool opening party at our country club on Thursday, however it got rained on...so it was held inside.  I can't tell you just how excited I am that the pool is open (I spent allllll day there yesterday...it was wonderful)!  Here are a few pictures that I took of my sisters & I!

For MDW, my family went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte (Concord), NC. I have nothing but great reviews to give!  It was amazing.  From when you walk in to when you leave there is something to look at and do.  It is a great place for families... I higly recommend it! The hotel was booked to full capacity our entire stay, but you would've never known that.  It is very spacious & plenty of seating in both the indoor and outdoor pool areas.  Plus, I have to say I met THE nicest, cutest & sweetest family.  They had a two year old daughter that was just TOO cute.  My sister, Logan and I ended up playing in the pool with her almost every day.  We exchanged information in case we ever cross paths there again!  They also had Magic Quest there.  I, for one, had never played it... (think: Harry Potter esque) but it was funny seeing all these kids throughout the hotel with wands and trying to get quests completed and gain points! HA!

I have to say, I didn't snap too many pictures this weekend because I didn't want my camera around water too much (plus I was in and out) and I left my phone in the hotel room to prevent it from damage! :( I guess all I can share this time are memories...Here are the only pictures I captured!

Fashion Friday: Summer White

Happy Fashion Friday, Y'all! I was planning on doing this post a lot earlier in the day, but then I was SO busy I didn't have time until now :) Since it is the Memorial Weekend, I thought it would be fitting to do a Fashion Friday post on Summer white.  I don't know about y'all but I LOVE wearing white in the Summer.  It goes with everything, makes you look (more) tan, and adds a little bit to any outfit! Plus, there are so many ways to 'do' white.  I have been taking OOTD pictures (but failed miserably at posting them) so here are some that had white in them :)
Top: Target
Bottoms: Citizens of Humanity

Adding white to any outfit can make it clean, crisp, or 'pop'!! I hope you enjoyed my Fashion Friday!

New iPhone Apps

When I have spare time, I always play on the app store to see if there are any new 'must haves.'  You can read about previous 'must have' apps that I have found here!

Around Me: This app is perfect for finding anything around you! it gives you categories (i.e. restaurants, banks/ATMS, etc) so that you can find what you need!

Soliatire: Does this need an explanation?? I find myself playing this game any spare second I get!

My Fitness Pal: I recently started working out again and trying to get in shape... With this app you can log what you eat/drink/etc, how many lbs you want to lose, your workout regimen, along with other things....it's very helpful!

Gas Buddy: This app gives you the cheapest gas prices closest to you...who wouldn't want that!

Foursquare: I used this app on my blackberry, but my bberry was so slow & couldn't figure out where I was so I just stopped... but now I am back loving it again!

P Tracker Lite: It is a "P" tracker. You can track your symptoms of each day, when you start, read articles, etc! You can also add reminders to take medicines too! I love it!

Happy hump day y'all! I hope every one is having a great day & were not affected by the storms last night! I have the day off from interning so I have some extra time to blog (not that I don't have time to blog while interning... :))

-Today I am loving that this week is halfway over! I am still having to get used to the up-early-working-all-day aspect of the internship.  It is a hard thing to get used to #collegegirlproblems

-I am also loving that tomorrow is my last work intern day for the week! ... and I don't have to go in until 12! yippeee

-I am SO loving that our country club pool opens officially on Friday! I am so excited I can't stand it! I love the memories made at that pool every year...and the wonderful tan I can now get!
(part of our pool area!)

-I am loving that it is Memorial Weekend in just a few days...but better yet, we are going to the Great Wolf Lodge.  We're going to the beach in two weeks so we decided to go somewhere a little different! Check out some of the awesome pictures!
check out this kids room, how cool!
I can't wait to see it in person & let y'all know how it is!!

-I am loving that John Isner is getting so much press lately!!!! Even though he lost yesterday, there is still a lot of pride in our town for him! Oh, did I mention... he went to my rival high school only a few miles away from my house! Pretty cool!... his looks don't hurt either!!

(how cute is that?!?!)

Tuesday Tunes...and workout

I have started a daily (3-5 times a week) workout regimen.  I am one who can't work out if I don't have music. And it can't just be ANY music, it has to be pretty intense 'movement' music! HA! Weird, but it has to be upbeat and make me WANT to work out (is it possible for me to want to work out???!!)  Here are some songs I think are great for working out! What do y'all think? Any suggestions?

Girl Talk- Bounce That

Cascada- Every Time We Touch (old, I know!)

Britney Spears- Freak Show (or any Britney song for that matter!)

Jennifer Lopez- On the Floor

Passion Pit- Sleepyhead

Modest Mouse- Float On

Yes, I realize all of these are completely R-A-N-D-O-M but I put my gym playlist on shuffle and picked from there!  They all have good beats to work out to! Hope you enjoyed!!!

Movie Review: Pirates

This past weekend when visiting H, we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 3D.  I was really excited! I have really enjoyed all of the previous Pirates movies and I hadn't seen a movie in 3D in quiiiite some time!  I was a little unsure of what the plot would be since Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom wouldn't be in it.  I was also a little unsure of how Penelope Cruz would play out in the movie. It was good, but I think it was a little "over done" and cheesy at times.  I'll admit it was sort of a let down, and I didn't really like Penelope Cruz....I'll stick with Team Kiera! But, I will say I really did like the idea of Blackbeard being in the movie! And the trickery of Jack Sparrow (add a captain before that ;))

If you've seen it, what did you think?

some of my photos...

As I've stated before, I love taking pictures. I've decided to share some photos that I have taken recently! I hope you enjoy & I look forward to hearing what you think!

Letters to the weekend

I saw this on A Carolina Nutshell's blog & thought it was such a cute idea...and decided to join in too (hope you don't mind :))

Dear weekend,
why oh why did you have to go by so fast? I had
such a great time and didn't want you to end. See you in 4 days!

Dear car battery,
Did you have to die at such an inconvenient time? I was with H,
and really didn't want to spend time with you! However, we have a new you...
looks like you're done. Thanks for everything! RIP!

Dear H,
Thank you for always being there for me, no matter
what the situation.  You are the best thing to ever happen to
me and for that I am thankful! I'm so glad I got to spend time
with you and I look forward to seeing you in 2 weeks
(these two weeks better FLY BY!) I love you so much.

Dear iTunes/Apple store,
why could you not transfer all of my music to
my new Mac? This would have made my life so
much easier. Now I get to do it all myself...

GTKY Sunday

1. what's your favorite rainy day activity?

curling up in bed and watching movies for hours on end...with a little nap in there somewhere! I can sleep so well when it is raining!

2. what time do you go to bed?
It depends.  During school my schedule is everywhere.  Sometimes I go to bed early (i.e 10pm) and other nights it's as late as 3am or even later.  Lately, I have been so exhausted from interning that I have been going to bed BY 10pm!

3. how many magazines do you subscribe to?
People & Coastal Living arrive at my house for my family... although I religiously purchase Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Southern Living.

4. did you sell all your belongings because you thought the world was ending yesterday?
NO... I'll just say it now.  I do not buy into all of this 'stuff.' I think it is pure nonsense and do not waste my time thinking about it. #oops. (Sorry if I lose followers for that!)

5. what's your beauty obssesion?
My eyelashes/eyes.  I have very long eye lashes (they almost touch my eyebrows) and if nothing else, my eyelashes/eyes MUST look good! They make me...me!

6. if you could only wear one designer/brand for the rest of your life...what would it be?
HM.... this is hard.. Nordstrom

7. what's your summer must have?
a flowy, fun dress & a new cute swim suit!

8. do you make weekly dinner menus?
No. I do not.  At school dinner comes fast and easy...and whenever I can make time for it! At home, my mom makes home cooked meals, or depending on our busy schedule we eat out (which is a lot!)

I have been hearing buzz about Pinterest for quite some time, but was a little unsure of what exactly it was! Luckily, Lauren @ Life with a Lab was sweet enough to send me an invite! I just started it today, and I seem to like it so far!! It lets you have 'folders' to organize your photos, inspiration, etc.  It is really a cool concept!

If you are on pinterest, feel free to add/follow (whatever it is that you do on there!) me and I'll be sure to do the same back :)  Or if you need an invite, I will send one over!

a little taste of heaven...

I'll go ahead and confess, I am not one to love dessert type foods.  However, I have one love for dessert... Maxie B's. Maxie B's is a locally owned dessert and bakery cafe.  Its great customer service, quaint cafe, and of course, beyond delicious desserts make it a 'must' every time I am home. Since I am home for the Summer, I plan on frequenting my favorite dessert place in town! Here are some photos I snapped on my dessert date with my sisters tonight!

I definitely enjoyed my time here today... I got strawberry shortcake...YUM!

First Kiss...too cute

This video has been circulating around Facebook and Twitter...and I just have to post it!

Tuesday Tunes...on Wednesday

I was so busy yesterday I didn't even have time to think about posting on here!!! I have some down time so excuse me posting my Tuesday Tunes on Wednesday!! xoxo

I listen to a lot of country in general, but especially in the Summer, it is just so refreshing and fun! This post is dedicated to all of my favorite country songs that I just can't get enough of!

Kenny Chesney: Summertime
When I think of Summertime I think of this song instantly... It is such a classic and you can't help but want Summer when you hear it!  (Now if only the weather would cooperate and make it feel like Summer!)

Thompson Square: Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not
The words are too cute in this song! I'm not really one for "twangy" country songs, but ones like this I am a sucker for!

Leighton Meester: Summer Girl
I have a girl crush on Leighton Meester! I think she is too cute and has really expanded her horizons with singing! (I def. like her version of 'A little bit stronger' way more!)

Lady Antebellum: When You've Got a Good Thing
I listen to this song farrrrr too much, and it never gets old! Such a cute song!

...there are MANY more, but I will share them next week! Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Love Lilly even more!

(*I have some spare time during interning, hence my amount of posts!*)

I have been lusting over the Lilly iPhone cases for quite a while... When I had a Blackberry, I clearly couldn't have one.  When I got my iPhone I couldn't find ANYWHERE that had the iPhone 4 cases, but everywhere had a ton of iPhone 3g cases....which by the way, infuriated me.  Lilly needs to get on her game a little better :) BUT WAIT... H came to visit me and go to dinner this weekend.  We went to PF Changs where the wait was 2 hours, so we decided to shop around while we waited.  We walked in Swoozies, one of my favorite stores.  Of course they had a ton of iPhone 3g cases, but it didn't seem they had any to match my phone.  While I was perusing the store, H decided to search for himself....and he found an iPhone 4 case... specifically the case I said I wanted to get here!
What's even better than the design?? The fact that I don't have to take the case partially off in order to put the auxiliary cord in to play my ipod in my car (which messed up my clear cover :()

Internship Update!

The first weekend of my internship has come to an end!  I have to say that I loved it! Just from this week I know that I am in the right career field, it is such a good feeling! On Monday I got introduced to everyone in the office, which was a little overwhelming because there were SO many people.  I went out to lunch with my boss at Mellow Mushroom which is right down the street from our office to discuss my duties and everything coming up...celebrated with a beer of course!

The next day we had an event with The Plain White Ts! I have to admit, I don't really listen to them, but it was still very cool to be able to meet, hear them live and have an event with them!

I got a photo with them too, but it isn't on this computer! The next few days flew by with picking up and delivering things, and doing many "intern errands!"  We delivered some things to breweries this week who are participating in the festival! I got to tour the brewing room of a local hang out of H & I, which was pretty neat!  Although, I will say...I did not like the smell of hops!!

"Summertime is finally here"

Ahhhhh, finally. It is sweet, sweet Summertime for me!  After this past week I never thought it would arrive.  I am finally done with school until August, which is just weird since I've been doing Summer School almost every Summer.  It will be a nice change to just be home and relax!

There are so many things I look forward to in the Summer.  Being home of course, eating yummy 'summertime' food, drinking sweet tea when it's hot, laying out by the pool, the beach, baseball games, family, old friends, and of course Summer clothes!  {Although, I am not looking forward to packing up a lot of my room!} I am staying in my same apartment next year, but I hate not having all of my stuff with me at home, minus my furniture! So this weekend will be full of packing up clothes, jewelry, movies, and other stuff!

Today is also H's 22nd birthday! We both had exams this morning at 9, but we are now both done and ready to celebrate! :) I got him a new Lilly tie {he actually picked it out since he is picky with ties, I understand!} and I made him a candy cake!  I will have to add pictures later!

I hope everyone is having a greaaaat Wednesday!
