My latest obsession.

Being at the beach, naturally I had to share this little gem with y'all! I got this the last time I was at the beach and am L-O-V-I-N-G it! It is so simple, yet adds a cute touch to so many outfits. I know all nautical/beachy lovers will be obsessed!

Fashion Friday: Beach Edition

fashion friday bathing suits

While at the beach I am usually in a bathing suit for the most part...I guess that explains why I have about 30.  I always love to choose semi-cheap ones that no one will have!

Of course, you have to have the essentials! These are my essentials. I love my Tory Burch flip flops (mine are green/blue) they are perfect for the beach.

Even when I go out to dinner, etc at night I like to keep it simple due to the humidity and heat! I love the easy, simple dresses, tops and shorts!

*Sorry this is so short, I am at the beach having TOO much fun! I will be sure to update y'all soon!*

Pinteresting Wednesdays: Life's a Beach

I am still a lover of Pinterest, however, with my busy schedule I haven't been able to play on there as much as I would like! (read: waste hours of time looking at what-I-want-my-dream-home-to-look-like photos).

Since I am heading to the beach on Friday, I thought I would show my favorite beach related pins! Enjoy! Also, if you need an invite to Pinterest, just let me know.

True Life: I'm a book worm

It is no secret that I love to read. I really enjoy reading, and I will attempt to read any kind of book once- for the most part. Although, I will say, I love chick-lit type books! I associate the Summer with relaxation and reading. In the Summer, it is so easy to just kick back and to let your mind delve into a new book.  This Summer alone I have read six books.

Ninteen Minutes: Jodi Picoult
The Pact: Jodi Picoult
Salem Falls: Jodi Picoult
Water for Elephants: Sara Gruen
Are you There God, It's Me Chelsea: Chelsea Handler
The Choice: Nicholas Sparks

I also have a huge pile just waiting to be read. I have gone back and forth about getting a Kindle, but after renewing my library card and being able to flip the pages and hold pages I still like the actual feel of reading a book. But, a Kindle isn't out of the question- I think it is a great invention (and much better for my eyes than a Nook!) Do any of y'all have a Kindle? If so, what do you think? Also, I don't know much about the pricing on books via Kindle- is it similar to the actual books?

Here are the books waiting to be read! Also, feel freeeee to send on suggestions for me to read!
(*ignore the LARGE PRINT books- I'm not blind, yet, but the library only had them in the large print!!!)

    Big News!

Hey y'all, I have quite a few *big* pieces of exciting news I would like to share with everyone, now that I have the time!

    Her Campus
Last Week I was informed that myself, and two other girls were given the launch to start a Her Campus at our college!  For those of you who aren't familiar with Her Campus, it is an interactive online magazine for college girls!  Each specific campus, also called My Campus, has their own personal online magazine. The founders are from Harvard University and have REALLY built their vision.

The idea of Her Campus magazine is to have a publication on college campuses that really cater to College Women.  The magazine focuses on style, events, health, boys, love life, and more! What's not to love?! I am thrilled with the other two girls on my 'launch team,' I know we are going to go very well working together and make Her Campus happen on our campus!

I found out that I will be the President of Publicity and Marketing, and I am so happy about this position. Being a PR major, this is going to be a great experience! They have branches across over 130 college campuses...and many girls who have joined Her Campus have landed jobs with Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and other prestegous magazines. I am so excited for this opportunity and I can't wait to fill you all in on everything as it happens!

    My Summer Must-Haves

    summer must haves

Summer is one of my favorite seasons! The Summer months are filled with sun, sand, chlorine from the pool, out door activities and lots of cute outfit combinations! I have compiled a list of things that are "must-haves" in the Summer! I can't live without these things in the Summer months. :)

Dresses: When it is so hot in the Summer, the easiest outfit choice is a dress.  They are so easy to throw on and accessorize.  I can't tell you how often I have worn the same dress and made it look SO different with new accessories! They are also very breathable, which is GREAT for those hot Summer days (or nights!).

Flowy Tops: When I choose to not wear a dress, my next choice is a flowy top (and some kind of bottoms). Flowy tops are great for the Summer because, once again they are so easy!  If you haven't noticed yet, easy = good!

White Jeans: I am a sucker for white jeans, white shorts, really, white anything!  When I'm interning those are my go-tos.  It is always so cold in the office that I wear pants- and most of the time they end up being white pants... It is so easy to transition them into different outfits.  Just make sure you buy a new pair every year so that they are a bright Summer white :)

Shorts: Also, a Summer Must-have in my book.  I love the Lilly Callahan shorts, they are just too cute! I am also a HUGE fan of Nike shorts (Norts) for running errands & working out.

Beach/Pool Bag: I have a few pool bags that I use for just that!  In them I keep all the essentials in them!  I have found that my best pool bag has been my Scout bag!

Sunscreen: Especially for those beach & pool days.  I love to tan, but I do not love to burn (although it still happens!) I use Coopertone sensitive skin sunscreen.  My skin is so sensitive that I can't even use the spray kind- I break out in tiny bumps. Plus, I think the rub on kind is my more even!

Chapstick: I think I may be addicted...really! I have chapstick in every one of my bags, in drawers at home, and in my car.  I think I use it so often, my lips go through withdrawal when I don't have it on!

Sunglasses/Croakies: Pretty self explanatory...So, I don't go blind in the blazing Summer sun!  I also tend to get in the pool with m sunglasses on, so croakies are good so they can be easily put around your neck!

Koozies: I have far too many of them.  ENTIRELY TOO MANY.  But, you can't ever have enough.  I hate when water bottle, beer bottles, or the like sweat all over my hands or my clothes so Koozies stop this from happening!

Tinted Moisturizer: In the Summer, I get so tan that I really don't have to wear much else other than tinted moisturizer.  It keeps my skin hydrated and it looks even.

Lotion: In the Summer my skin definitely takes a hit.  The chlorine and the sun dry my skin out SO badly.  I feel like I am constantly putting on lotion, but at the end of the day I can always tell a difference.  I love the Vaseline lotion- it works wonders!

Planner: Yes, I realize it's Summer but I stilllll need my planner.  From interning to babysitting to the events I want to remember- I NEED my planner! I can't wait to get my newest Lilly planner :)

    What are your Summer Must-Haves??

    DIY cork boards

I have been feeling pretty crafty lately, but had NO idea what exactly I wanted to craft! When I saw Sarah's post on DIY fabric cork boards I knew that is what I wanted to do!  My sister is in the process of re-decorating her room, so we thought it would be a fun craft to do together!

We went to JoAnns and got all of the fabric, etc. I chose Green Seersucker (love) and my sister chose chocolate brown to go with the theme of her room!

    I'm still here!

Just wanted to let y'all know that ever since July 4, I have been slammed! I am in my college town cleaning (I haven't been here in a month and goodness things STILL get messy and dusty!) and visiting with H!  My big event that I've been planning for my internship is in ONE WEEK so I have a ton of stuff to do! Once that is over and done with I should be back to my blogging self :) xo

    The 4th in photos

I hope everyone had a great fourth weekend! Mine was very relaxing, and for that I am thankful! Our family never makes a huge deal out of the fourth.  it is just our time to spend together and relax.  We usually spend our weekend cooking out and hanging by our country club pool!  I don't have many things to tell you about, so I will just let the pictures speak for themselves for the most part! I can't wait to read about how everyone else's weekend was!

(P.S. I played around in instagram with them!)

The pool had snow cones...needless to say, I was a little kid again for that short time!

My sister & I were twins on the fourth...by accident!

My new friend, Mia, that I met :)

We needed 3 wheel barrels to fit all f our fire works!

Those are my favorite kind of fire works!

    Happy fourth!!

    How cute is this?!

I hope everyone has a great fourth! I can't wait to read all about it! xo

    Taylor Swift re-cap!!!

I have been to my fair share of concerts in my twenty-one years, but I have to say, this was one of the best!  I really love when the artists interact with the audience (all 30,000 of us) and make you feel apart of the show. James Wesley opened for her and although I only knew two of his songs he did a great job and I can't wait to hear more of him.

Taylor Swift came on around 8:15 and played until 10:45. It was a FABULOUS show! What I didn't know is that Taylor choreographs and designs every single thing you see in her show- from the outfits to the sets! Impressive!  We sat on the top level at one of the closest rows so I was able to get some great pictures! I have found that being on the second level is better than being on the floor because if you're short (like me) you can actually see! woo hoo!

Here are the songs she played last night!
    1) Sparks Fly
    2) Mine
    3) The Story of Us
    4) Our Song
    5) Mean
    6) Back to December
    7) Better than Revenge
    8) Enchanted
    9) Long Live
    10) Fifteen
    11) Love Story
