stacks on stacks on stacks!

If you have been following along on Life With Emily for a while, then it is no surprise to you that I love my "stacks" on my wrists. I am always on the lookout for a new bracelet to add to my collection! My stacks (or arm party...whatever term you prefer!) have become a part of me. I feel 'off' if I forgot them in my morning rush!
I always find the best stacks on Pinterest and love trying to find bracelets like the ones I love on there! I really wish people were better at adding comments & sources- it would make my search a looot easier :-)
Through some of my favorite fashion bloggers (Atlantic PacificElle Bow RoomThe Style Scribe) I have become more open to bigger and crazier stacks. They're just too much fun to play around with and it's so easy to accessorize an outfit through stacks of bracelets.

Here are some of my favorites via pinterest lately.

Here are a few of my stacks. I tend to keep them more classic, but throw some color in here and there! Baby steps until I fill my arms with bulk and tons of color!
I wish I could purchase al of these beauties that I have been eyeing to add to my stack!

Graduation Day Dress Options

This Saturday marked three weeks until graduation. While I am stressed about finishing projects, campaigns, and submitting portfolios (...oh and finding a job amidst all this) I am also stressing about what to wear. I fully realize that I will have my graduation gown over it during the ceremony, but I still want to look cute for such a big day! Hello, this is a big accomplishment and there will be a lot of photos!

I have narrowed it down to three options. All of these will be worn with nude heels. So, PLEASE help me decide!!

Option 1:
I have had this since December, it still has the tags on it! I love that it doesn't scream "Lilly." I feel like it was classy and timeless.

Option 2:
The colors in this dress are much more vibrant than this photo lets on! Every little detail is so me! But, I have been back and forth on if it is dressy enough or appropriate for graduation.

Option 3:
This is a floral piece from Old Navy. This option would be great if it is a little chilly on graduation day. I'm graduating at 9 a.m. (I have to be at the convocation center by 8:15) so if it is chilly this may be appropriate. But I'm not 100% in love with it.

Luckily, there are a lot of festivities the weekend of graduation. Between dinner the night before, the day of, and a brunch gathering at our house the day after, all of these lovely dresses will get their time to shine!

Friday Fancies #1

We have finally made it to Friday! Today I am linking up with Av from Long Distance Loving for Friday Fancies! This is my first Friday Fancies post (I know, I can't believe I've never linked up either) and I look forward to participating each week! Friday Fancies theme this week is going on a picnic!

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of a picnic is gingham. I picture the old school picnic baskets with gingham inside and a gingham blanket to sit on. While I realize that is no longer realistic, I knew I just had to bring gingham into the setting somehow. What better way than J.Crew shorts?!

Having a picnic is all about comfort. This outfit is cute, yet simple and would be perfect for a day of eating, sipping wine, and lounging on a blanket in the park! I love the updated picnic basket! It is so feminine and cute-- and has all of the supplies you need for a fun picnic! But no activity is complete without a camera. I take my camera with me everywhere so I can capture my favorite moments!

What would you wear to a picnic?

Hello ladies and happy Thursday to you all! I am certainly ready for the weekend- this week seemed to drag by. But, things looked up when Raven started discussing doppelgängers on twitter! She dedicated a whole post to Doppelgänger and I was rolling with laughter.... so of course I had to use this site to see who my doppelgänger was!

A Mommas Desires and Pacifiers

Let me preface this by saying I have never really been told I look like anyone in particular (or someone over and over.) When I had super long hair I used to curl it a lot and I got told multiple occassions that I looked like T.Swift. Huh?? I have been told a few times I resemble Michelle Pfieffer (but secretly that's my mom... my mom and Michelle have a LOT of similar qualities and have actually been stopped on the street asking if she was Michelle or if they could have her autograph!)

Here's what I got when I used the website...

Who's your Doppelgänger?

Calling all Blondes!

I was blessed with blonde hair from day one....well actually day 365 because I had NO hair until I was one! Anyway, over the years my hair has gone from basically white to just plain blonde. I don't know about other fellow blondes but between summer/fall and winter/spring my hair does this weird thing where it is almost oily in preparation for a lot of days in the sun. I'm not even sure if that makes sense but it's like my hair is adjusting to being very light again. Well, I hate it when those times come and I struggle with finding the right shampoo and conditioner.

I had seen a few commercials for the new John Frieda Go Blonder shampoo and I rushed to my local Ulta to buy some! I had used John Frieda Sheer Blonde before and loved it so I knew I wouldn't be let down. Let me tell you, I most definitely was not let down!

I am now obsessed with everything from the smell to the feeling of my hair after using this shampoo and conditioner! After using it for about a week I can tell a difference in my hair. It is lighter than it typically is this time of year and that makes me one happy blonde! What makes me even more happy? Knowing that John Frieda even has a spray version of this! I will definitely be using this in the summer time! It reminds me of sun-in but a little more reliable!

Do you blondes use this?

GCB book v. show

I think it's safe to say everyone knows by now that I am a sucker for television. I am the girl TV shows aim for. I get emotionally invested and will watch from beginning to end. So, when I saw the previews for the TV show, GCB, a show filled with southern women, gossip, and good fashion I knew I would have to tune in!

Well, once the show started up (and I was undoubtedly hooked) I saw a lot of buzz about the book that the show was based on, Good Christian Bitches by Kim Gatlin. I immediately downloaded it on my Kindle and began reading! Here is what I decided....

I began reading the book with the gorgeous and hilarious girls from the show in my mind. However, as the details of the book began to differ I knew I had to throw the details of the show out of my mind while reading the book.

While I realize the show is based on the book, ABC 100% changed it. Some parts I like a lot better and others are just plain annoying in both the book and the show!
-In the book the women are older (late 40s-early 50s) whereas in the show they are a lot younger.

-Amanda Vaughn's children are 8 and 12, which makes the story a lot different because her daughter isn't havalina'd. They take a different spin on the kids being younger- but I liked it!

-Their ten commandments are still fully enforced!

-The women's "bible study" (read: gossip) session is absolutely laugh-out-loud hilarious in the book!

-In the book Amanda becomes Longhorn Ball Chair after Sharon ruins it.

-Luckily my favorite parts, such as the Mercedes, and Neiman Marcus delivery are still in the book!

Although the differences are plentiful I still highly suggest reading the book (and throw the ideas of the show characters out the window!) It was a fun and easy read and would be perfect for a beach or pool side read! Happy Reading!

Have any of you read Good Christian Bitches? What were your thoughts?

{note to self: always keep this in mind}
Happy Monday!

Fill in the Blank

Happy Friday! I absolutely loved this short week of school... technically only one day of classes (today!) I am heading down the mountain this weekend to visit Hunter in Charlotte. I am so excited! Anyways, I still haven't gotten back in my blogging groove....I'm so slack, I know. {if it makes up for it I have a whole long list of things I want to blog about!} So today I am linking up for Fill in the Blank Friday

1.  Today is a good day because   it is Friday, of course...and I get to see my sweet boy after classes!   .

2.   The best thing I did all week was   turn 22! I absolutely love birthdays!    .

3.  The current weather is     sunny but cool       and it makes me feel     like it's not even April. What happened to the awesome 70-80 degree weather we had in February- I want that back! .

4. The best thing about spring is    getting to bring out all of my spring/summer clothes. The brights and prints realllly make me happy!.

5. A fashion trend that I'm dying to try out for spring is  I'm honestly up for trying anything. I've tried the colored denim {and loved it} and I am all for bright colors and prints. Hey, it can't hurt to try something once!

6. A person who made me smile this week was    my mom! I have such a great time with her and she always knows just what to say to make me laugh!

7.  The most delicious thing I ate all week was   Mellow Mushroom hit the spot on Tuesday.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Birthday Recap!

I am back after a short {but much needed} break! Between school work, applying for jobs, and driving back and forth to home I needed a little break from blogging to just catch up on life. But, I am so glad to be back and don't intend to take any more breaks- I missed blogging too much!

My Easter break was so wonderful. Being home was just what I needed. The fact that my birthday fell on Easter break just made it that much better! While I was home I got to enjoy relaxing, reading, family time, and some shopping!

On Saturday night we had my birthday dinner. I have a ridiculous obsession with Bonefish Grill so we ate there! Hunter & Bre were able to come and I was so happy for that! It was a night filled with great food, wonderful company, and a lot of laughter!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!!

Happy Birthday to me!
Today I am 22!
i absolutely love birthdays, whether it is my own or someone else's! I love celebrating and I fully intend to do that today- although I must say, 22 isn't as exciting as 21! I remember last year I was counting down the months, days, and seconds until I turned 21 and although nothing awesome comes with being 22 I am looking forward to a great year ahead! I will be enjoying my day filled with shopping, relaxing, and doing everything that I want to do on my special day! :-)

I am enjoying my last day of Easter break but look forward to catching up with the blog world soon! xoxo
