Wedding season is in full swing and my calendar is filled with weddings over the next six months… including our own! Wedding season is filled with events that fill the calendar, like engagement parties, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners on top of the actual wedding itself! If you’re attending any of these events, chances are you’re in need of a present to bring the couple. Today I’m partnering with west elm to celebrate the re-launch of their wedding registry and sharing tips to help you be the best wedding guest!
If you’re an engaged couple, it’s important to create a really great registry, filled with items you want and need. Your guests will use your registry as a guide when buying presents for your showers and wedding. Remember at the end of the day, the registry is filled with items you want/need, so cater it to your life as a couple. If you don’t like china, then don’t register for it! If you really want items to make your house feel like a home, register for those items! Nick and I have a set of this textured dinnerware and they’re our favorite for every day dining. You also can’t go wrong registering for pillows, throws, or decorative trays to really add to your home.

whats on the registry….
Picture frame: Go one step further and add a photo you the frame for the couple! One of our friends gave us a picture frame for our engagement party and they added in our save the date, which was such a sweet gesture! Now we have our save the date framed so we can remember it forever!
Dinnerware: Let’s be honest, buying plates and bowls isn’t super exciting! A great way to gift dinnerware is to accompany it with a cookbook or your favorite recipe!
Bedding: If you plan on getting the couple bedding that they registered for, add in a set of “sleepy time tea” to your card so they feel very relaxed when they dive into their new bedding for the first time!
Small gifts: There’s nothing wrong with registering for smaller gifts (or gifting those items!) Anytime I see smaller gifts on a couples registry, I will create a gift basket of sorts and buy 5-6 of the smaller gifts that all fit into one category (i.e. kitchen gadgets, kitchen towels, etc.)
If you’re engaged & haven’t registered yet, I highly recommend registering at west elm. They not only have a wide range of items to register for, registering with them comes with a lot of perks! West elm has partnered with numerous brands to offer perks once creating a registry, like one week of free classes from pure barre (perfect way to get toned for the wedding!) But perhaps my favorite perk is the post-wedding completion discount. West elm offers 15% off off anything that’s left on your registry post-wedding so you can complete your registry & get started with newlywed life in style! You can read more about it here.
Thank you to west elm for partnering with this post. All thoughts, writing & styling are my own.
