This past Christmas I received an iPad. To say I was ecstatic would be an understatement! This is a piece of technology that I always wanted, but never purchased for myself. My family has three, so whenever I needed one I just borrowed one of theirs! But having my own is clearly better! I use it for every day browsing, fun (I’m addicted to Pet Rescue Saga…guilty), and to remain organized. Over the past few months I downloaded some apps that I have now deemed as must haves! If you don’t have these, I highly suggest you downloading them & giving them a try.
Evernote (free): Evernote is perfect for taking notes on the go. I am one of those people that are constantly writing ideas that I have throughout the day on random pieces of paper. The problem with that is that my papers often get tossed as I attempt to organize or get lost, in turn making me forget my ideas. Evernote is the perfect place to write down all of the ideas I have! It has different “notebooks” for you to organize your notes. I have a work notebook, blog notebook, and personal notebook. The best features of this app is that it automatically syncs your notes to your iPad, iPhone & Mac if you have the app downloaded on those devices.
Retro (free): If you find yourself scrolling through Instagram endlessly, then this is one app you need! Retro for Instagram offers a few different ways to view your feed (which is ideal when trying to catch up after a day of work). It also gives you detailed notifications, which I like. Everything about this app is seamless and visually pleasing.
Next Issue (free): I have a love/hate relationship with magazines. I love to read them when I have time, but I hate spending money on them. They eventually just pile up on my nightstand collecting dust. My stepdad let me in on this awesome app over Christmas. It is perfect for any magazine lover. Next Issue is a free download, but it is a monthly charge. You can purchase a subscription for $9.99 for unlimited downloads of over 115 magazines every month (including back issues you may have missed!) or $14.99 for a subscription to over 150 magazines that include all the weeklies! Even if you only download two magazines a month this app easily pays for itself! I have all of my favorites saved and they download new issues automatically when they come out….amazing.
Hootsuite (free): Social media is great….until it becomes overwhelming. Too many accounts to manage can be quite a dilemma! Hootsuite allows you to manage your social media channels by scheduling posts throughout the day. Since I have a full time job I can’t be on social media during work, but I still want to be active & produce content, so I will queue tweets about new blog posts, links I like, etc. to post! It helps because I’m active, but can also focus on my work during the day!
Blogsy ($4.99): I rarely blog on my iPad, but there have been a few rare occasions where I have done so. The blogger iPad app is just plain terrible. It crashes often, and a lot of the functions don’t work. Every time I have used it my posts have been formatted weird or didn’t post at all! I was searching the app store when I happened upon Blogsy. It was $4.99, so I was hesitant to pay for an app I knew nothing about. I read the reviews, almost all positive, so decided to give it a try. The functions on this app are so great and ideal for every aspect of blogging. If you’re wanting to blog more on the go, this is definitely an app to try!
Be sure to let me know if you have any must have apps that you love! Or if you try these let me know what you think!
I've seen ever note recommended so many times. I need to finally check it out!

I LOVE Hootsuite but I didn't realize they had an app! I am definitely going to get that!
I am definitely going to have to download Next Issue, that sounds awesome!
You've got me curious about Retro, I love the look of it. And I can vouch for Evernote, it's fantastic. Evernote Hello is another great one, it allows you to compile all the business cards you collect into one place. You can take a picture of the card, or enter it manually. So great for organization!
You should look at Evernote Hello. It's a place to compile all your business cards, and it tracks meetings. You can take a picture of the card or enter it manually. So great for conferences and meet and greets!
I love HootSuite, but I haven't tried any of the others — definitely going to have to give these a try! Next Issue sounds great! And I agree about the blogger app — it is not nearly as high tech as it should be. Loving these photos with the sweet pup! xo
What a great post! I hadn't heard of most of them so it was so helpful! I never knew there was an alternative to the blogger app (the blogger app IS terrible). Thanks so much!!

What is the brand of IPad cover you have? Where did you get it?
Love! Thanks for sharing!
You may, or may not, have just changed my life with that last one. I've been struggling to give my iPad 110% of my love because I haven't been able to blog on it.
I had never heard of any of these, but I am going to have to check them out!

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing. I just got an iPad for Christmas as well, and I'm still learning how to use it best. The Blogger app is a complete mess – so good to know there's an alternative!!
I love this list. –Hanna Lei
