A special thanks to Jessica and Cathy for hosting the event and pulling out all the stops to make it a great weekend! Thanks to Rebekah Carson Photography for capturing the entire weekend and to the W Hotel in Buckhead for letting 50 bloggers take over (oh, and having great areas for photos!!!)
Two weekends ago I went to Atlanta for Southern Blog Society’s Blog Conference. It was a fun-filled weekend with a great group of bloggers from the southeast. We were able to learn a lot, connect with brands and bloggers from across the south, eat, shop, and of course, take a lot of photos! It was such a wonderful and refreshing weekend that I just have to re-cap it! be prepared for a lot of photos!
FRIDAY // I arrived in Atlanta mid-day on Friday and the fun immediately began! I had a full day planned with my roommates for the weekend, Ashley and Ashlyn. This was the first time we had all met in person, but we immediately hit it off and it was as if we had known each other for years! We started off the day at True Food Kitchen. If you have one in your area, I highly suggest trying it out. It features plenty of healthy and delicious drink and food options. After lunch we did some shopping at Kendra Scott before heading to The Dry Bar for a blowout appointment with Brittany and Kristin! It was such a fun afternoon with the girls.
After our blow out we headed to the Milk + Honey Showroom at the Mart for a preview of GiGi New York‘s fall ’14 preview! It’s no secret here that I am a huge fan of GiGi New York, so I was super excited to see what was new for fall. Let me tell ya, the new collection is amazing…the colors, the new styles, and the attention to detail is simply stunning. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Tom! It was so interesting to hear about the back end of the brand and his experiences as the owner. He made me appreciate the brand so much more!
Next up was our Night Cap at Whiskey Blue that was hosted by Ahalogy. It was so fun to meet a lot of girls, mingle, and eat macarons (yum!) Afterwards a big group of us went to Del Frisco’s for dinner and to continue conversation. I love being surrounded by fun, like-minded girls!
SATURDAY // The morning started off with Coffee Talk at The W Hotel in Buckhead where we enjoyed breakfast while hearing speakers talk about the blogging industry and their companies. We heard from Ahalogy, Shop Sense by ShopStyle and Amy Flurry of Recipe For Press. Each offered some insight about using their platform in regards to blogging and how it can help better your brand. I definitely took away some great tips and words of advice from these three.
After Coffee Talk we were able to mingle with brands such as Kendra Scott, ASOS, Dress Up Boutique and more before we headed to lunch! I loved this opportunity to meet more bloggers, network with the brands, and learn more about them.
We then all piled into the cutest trolly to head to lunch. Lunch was held at South City Kitchen and was hosted by ASOS. South City Kitchen had quintessential southern cuisine that was absolutely delicious. Oh and not to mention, it was the cutest place! I ended up getting fried chicken (how could I not?!?) and ended lunch with a little banana pudding. I’m still thinking about how amazing this meal was! Afterwards we headed back to The W for some swag bag fun!! The swag bag certainly did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded any expectations I even had!
SUNDAY // Sunday was the #sbscon wrap party held by Southern Living Magazine at the Wet Deck of The W Hotel. The views from the rooftop pool were amazing. We toasted to Jessica and Cathy, the Southern Blog Society founders, had many laughs with each other, and eventually had to say our goodbyes. It was such a wonderful weekend spent with blogger friends, new and old. P.S. The icing on the #sbscon cake was being featured on Southern Living’s blog, The Daily South as one of five southern style blogs to follow! It was such a surprise and I was truly honored to be included.
I’ll be back later this week sharing my outfits from the conference!
