Weekend Recap | Wilmington

This past weekend Brian and I made a trip to Wilmington! It was kind of a spur of the moment decision, we just booked a hotel randomly one night and made it a done deal before we had time to back out ha! Sometimes spontaneous trips are necessary and after a crazy week I was so glad we were able to get away! Brian went to college in Wilmington and I spent many summers there with friends, so it was fun being able to go to all of our favorite places together, and even try a few new places!

On Friday night we got to Wilmington around 8 p.m., checked into our hotel & took a cab downtown for a late dinner. We started at Front Street Brewery, which is one of our favorite spots downtown for good beer and food! We lucked up because the beer that we like was their “Mug of the Day” and on special for $2! Can’t beat raspberry wheat beer for that price! After dinner we tried The Blind Elephant, after someone on instagram suggested it. We ended up running into Lindsey of Fifi Cheek and it was such a fun surprise! I have followed her blog/instagram for the longest time and it was so nice to finally meet her in person! After that we hopped around to a few more bars before calling it a night!

Saturday morning we woke up and headed across the bridge to Wrightsville Beach! It was one of those days that was seemingly perfect, not too hot and a great breeze, everything you want in a beach day! We spent a few hours on the beach before heading to Dockside for lunch. I love Dockside because it’s a beach staple, but I have to admit, I go mostly for the view! I love watching all the boats pass while sipping on a beer! Saturday night we headed back to downtown Wilmington for dinner at Elijah’s and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We got to sit outside and watch as the boats went by, all while enjoying a delicious meal. (p.s. I think it’s safe to say I got my fill for seafood this weekend!)

Sunday was spent playing around downtown and exploring some of the locations where One Tree Hill was filmed! In case you didn’t know I am pretty obsessed with that show and have re-watched it in its entirety twice. Every time I go to Wilmington I always try to find where certain parts of the show were filmed. Well, this time I did a little more research and found the address to every location. I was in fan girl heaven! Brian was such a good sport and let my fangirldom take the wheel and explore some of the locations! I stopped by Brooke Davis’ childhood home on the way out. P.s. it’s even more gorgeous in person!

Hope y’all had a great weekend!

Sounds like the perfect weekend! High school me totally would have freaked out about the One Tree Hill locations too. I think Dawson's Creek was also filmed there! And that raspberry wheat beer sounds delicious!
