Game Day with Jack Rogers

The early weeks of fall always leave me feeling a little reminiscent of my college days. I graduated from Appalachian State over two years ago, but fall still brings memories rushing back to me about the fall months spent in my little mountain town of Boone, North Carolina! Fall in the mountains was my absolute favorite part about college every year. The brightly colored leaves surrounded all of our campus with the mountains in the background, we all soaked up the last days of warmth before having to wear jackets and snow gear, and of course Appalachian Mountaineer Game Days!
Game Days at Appalachian were a big to-do! It was a tradition to wake up every Saturday blasting the ASU fight song while drinking mimosas and getting decked out in our yellow, black, and gold. We would spend the afternoon tailgating at Duck Pond before entering The Rock for game time! Afterwards we would head across the street to Klondike, everyone’s favorite hole-in-the-wall for some after game time fun!
If you looked around at Duck Pond on Game Days you would see the two main staples that every girl had for game day, Jack Rogers or cowboy boots! Until it got so cold that I couldn’t take it any longer, I was always a Jack Rogers girl on game day! I knew they were always classic and wouldn’t leave my feet hurting at the end of the day! This is an outfit similar to what I would wear for game day, even now after graduating! Being that I’m blonde I have never been much of a “yellow person,” so on game days I picked out more black, white, and gold pieces! I so wish I had the black & gold combo Jacks in college! These are not only perfect for ASU students but also for Steelers fans, Wake Forest fans, or anyone who loves a black and gold combo! 🙂
