instagram roundup & liketoknow….what?

P.S. Since we’re on the subject of instagram, I wanted to take the time to explain a service to you called LiketoKnow:IT. In recent months you may have noticed a link that looks something like liketk.it/Yt4A popping up in the captions of bloggers and influencers instagrams. LiketoKnow.IT is a free service created by rewardStyle (an affiliate network) as a way to shop instagram photos! By signing up once on their site you can get details sent to your email every time you “like” a photo on instagram that has the link.

Now I know most people don’t want another email in their inbox (who does!) so you can choose how often you receive the emails (in real time, once a week, or never). Personally my email inbox is always overflowing, so I have the emails coming once a week.

So…I get it, it may be confusing. Or annoying. or both. So why do bloggers use it? For a couple of reasons. First, some people follow my instagram and not my blog, so it gives them the opportunity to shop my looks easily. It also gives blog readers a chance to shop the looks that may not end up on my blog. Second, sometimes I don’t see all comments asking where something is from on my instagram until much later, so using this service allows my followers to get exact item details almost immediately. Finally, it is also a way to make money. I am part of rewardStyle, which is a commission based affiliate program. Anytime anyone purchases an item from a link on my blog or through LiketoKnow.IT I earn a small commission, however it is not a cost to the buyer at all! Pretty great, right? So not only is it a way to get outfit details instantly, it also helps make Life With Emily possible and I am so grateful for that.
