This year I wanted to introduce a new series to Life With Emily about my monthly beauty favorites, but I totally failed at doing that in January (oops!) I know I love learning and reading about new products, so I thought I would share my favorites with you all each month. A few of these items are recent, but a few of them I have been using religiously now for months! P.S. If you have any tried-and-true beauty favorites, send them my way…I already try a few new products a month, but I would love to keep trying more!
BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Stunner This color seems a little more bright in the tube, but on your lips it is more muted and clear. It’s a great every day type of lipgloss. This color definitely has me ready for spring.
Prescriptives Super Line Preventer Xtreme I received this in a swag bag a while ago and never had taken out of the box. I was cleaning out my bathroom cabinets last month and decided to give it a try! It is supposed to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. It is a thick formula, but what I really like is that it doesn’t leave your face feeling oily. I also have extremely sensitive skin and this hasn’t upset my skin at all. I have been using it for about a month now and I can tell that my face is more smooth.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara If there’s one thing to know about me, it is that I am utterly obsessed with mascara. It is hands down the beauty product that I would take with me anywhere. So anytime I see a mascara, I have to try it. Nine times out of ten I don’t like them…but then there’s that one time that I fall in love with one….and recently this one is it! I picked this one up on a recent trip to Ulta. I really like how it separates my lashes so well and doesn’t clump at all. It also isn’t the type of mascara to flake off after a few hours either.
BareMinerals Prime Time BB Primer Cream I have been a fan of bareMinerals primer for years, but had been wanting to try their tinted primer. I really like primer because it gives my skin a smooth look and helps my makeup stay on longer. On days when I want to wear minimal makeup I will only use this tinted primer on my face.
Essie Cashmere Matte in Comfy in Cashmere I have never been one to turn down trying a new nail polish. I was a little unsure about a matte polish (I have tried them in the past and have hated them) but I really liked this particular one! It’s not too matte and I love the glimmer in this color. it’s a great polish to transition from winter to spring.
Versace Bright Crystal Perfume This has been a favorite scent of mine for over a year now. I originally discovered it through my friend Haley and I have been hooked ever since. I love that it is a lighter scent (it’s one that never causes headaches for me) and can be worn throughout all four seasons.
Kendra Scott Large Jewelry Organizer (on sale right now!) I have been on the search for a quality jewelry organizer for quite some time. The last time I was in the Kendra Scott store I spotted this beauty and I knew this was exactly what I had been looking for all along. It is compact and slim (great for travel), has zippered pockets for earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. I like that it has these sections so that nothing can get tangled anymore. It also comes with a hook so that it can be hung anywhere you’re traveling!
ghd Hair Straightener c/o I am really picky when it comes to hair straighteners. The cheaper ones always tend to pull my hair out or break it badly. I was loyal to Chi for a few years until mine began glitching out every year. I really like this straightener because I don’t have to turn the temperature up as high as I would with other straighteners, it leaves my hair straight but it still has volume, and it heats at a rapid speed!
