Now that cooler temperatures are upon
us, it’s time to start thinking about ways we can stay warm without looking
frumpy. I love the idea of jackets
when it’s cooler, but, to be honest, I hate wearing them when I’m going in and
out of stores while running errands, especially during the holiday season. For
me, they tend to be more of a hassle than anything! So I choose to stay warm by
layering up. However, layering can be tricky and downright uncomfortable if
it’s not done right.

Today, I want to share with you my
tried-and-true layering tips! For the first layer, I always choose a soft,
comfortable long-sleeve tee or turtleneck. For the next layer, I like to wear a
thick oversized cardigan or sweater (sometimes I’ll even roll up the sleeves on
them so you can see the tee). And for the last layer, I add a scarf, both for style
and an added layer of warmth! Blanket scarves are my absolute favorite because
they are large and can be worn so many different ways. Earlier this fall I was
in Target (definitely browsing & not shopping by just my list!) and I was thoroughly impressed by the massive amount
of blanket scarves Target carries. The patterns are perfect and the price points are even better. I have added quite a
few to my collection and find myself wearing them often.

Since I tend to layer a lot during the
fall and winter months, I play around and mix different patterns and textures
so I don’t end up feeling as though I’m wearing the same outfit day in and day
out. I’m a big fan of mixing stripes and plaid together, so that’s exactly what
I did for this look. This is the perfect “everyday” look, as it can easily be
worn to run errands or grab dinner with friends. If it’s really chilly, you could swap the flats for socks and booties!

Love the whole outfit. –Hanna Lei
I love this outfit! I can't seem to pull of a blanket scarf though- I always end up looking like it is trying to swallow my head. Do you have tips on how to avoid this? Yours looks awesome!
