2015 in Outfits

Happy 2016, everyone! I hope you all had a great time ringing in the New Year with family and friends! I rang in the New Year with Nick, our friends, and the Avett Brothers! It was such a fun night and a great way to start off the new year. I am so excited to see what’s in store for the upcoming year. I have a sneaking suspicion it may be the best one yet!

I wanted to take a minute and reflect on the past year with you all. 2015 was a year of huge changes for me. It was the year that I took a leap of faith and ran this blog as my full-time job. I’m not going to lie and tell you that it was all butterflies and flowers, because it wasn’t. It was a definite learning curve for me being my own boss and a small business owner. There are a lot of back-end things that are never talked about, and I won’t bore you with those, but I’ll just say, a lot more goes into it than you think! It was a lot to handle at times. Many tears were shed, but I also learned a lot from it. Being my own boss taught me to hustle and go after what I want and to be thankful for those (you guys!!!) who make it all possible!

From a personal standpoint this year was also a hard one for me. I started off 2015 in a position where I wasn’t really happy with anything around me. I don’t typically share the “bad” times on my blog, but just know that everyone has them, whether they choose to share or not. I briefly shared a bit of my personal life in this post here (which was hard for me!) but it helped me to put it out there. It wasn’t easy to do, but it was the right thing to do and it ultimately led me to something much, much greater. From March on,  my year seemed to be looking a whole lot better. I was finally happy. I was finally in a better mindset.

I ended 2015 very happy. I got to spend the last days of 2015 with my family (including those from Texas and California), planned some fun things for 2016, and Life With Emily got one major makeover! It was a big step (and one that was necessary) and I am beyond pleased with the outcome. Whitney of Heart & Arrow helped make my every design dream come true! 2016 is starting off great!
