How’s everyone doing today? I’m still playing catch up after coming back from Charleston late on Sunday night! Speaking of Charleston, that’s what today’s post is all about! Last Friday I headed to Charleston, SC for Fashion Week with Belk! I have been to Charleston many, many times, but never had the opportunity to attend Fashion Week. This week marked the 10th year of Charleston Fashion Week, so there was a lot of extra buzz surrounding the events this year! Needless to say I was honored to be there representing Belk for the weekend! Click through to read my recap& see some amazing photos of the weekend.
FRIDAY // ARRIVE IN CHARLESTON & LET THE FUN BEGIN
I arrived in Charleston on Friday afternoon and headed straight to the Belk in Mt. Pleasant to meet the Belk team! We helped create a few Insta-worthy looks and outfitted the five bands for their #RoadSouth concert performance on Saturday. From there I checked into my hotel and popped into Virginia’s on King for an app and a beer before getting ready for the night’s event!
Friday night was spent in the Belk Tent in Marion Square, where Fashion Week is held. The tent was 70’s style/Boho themed, so there were a lot of great looks in the tent that I was digging! I loved the lace up gladiators, embroidered pieces, and bell sleeves that many of the outfits had (you can see a peek from my tweets here).
I wore this black embroidered dress from Free People and it was perfect for the occasion! I paired it with these lace up heels and fun statement tassel earrings! I met up with a few friends afterwards and attended a few shows of local boutiques before Nick arrived into town. My favorite was definitely from Beckett Boutique. There were so many pieces that I was ooh-ing and aah-ing over! After the shows, Nick and I grabbed a drink at Victor Social Club before dinner at Coast.
SATURDAY MORNING // SPRING BRIDAL SHOW
I was super excited about heading to the bridal show on Saturday morning! Even though I’m not engaged, I loved seeing the latest trends in bridal (I am a lover of lace details!) Belk had a spot at the show and was showing the latest in the Kate Spade home collection, a lot of items that would be perfect to register for during that special time! I met up with my local friends, Annie & Chloe to stroll through the tent while catching up over Bloody Marys!
After the bridal shows, I met up with Nick and we headed to The Rarebit for a boozy brunch before gearing up for a fun afternoon with Belk! P.S. The french toast and chicken & waffles were the bomb!
SATURDAY AFTERNOON// ROAD SOUTH CONCERT
On Saturday afternoon we headed to the Music Farm to hear the five Road South Bands perform. These five bands were competing to become the Road South winner, who would be able to tour and perform at large events throughout the year, such as the Belk Bowl. I was so impressed with the five bands (Joel Cross was so good!) In the end, they all ended up winning, which they all were very surprised about! Be on the lookout for them touring in the future for some good music!
I wore this blue floral print bell-sleeve dress to the concert and for the remainder of the evening. It is incredibly flattering and so comfortable. This will definitely be a dress that I wear time & time again!
P.S. Can we talk about how great these photos turned out of Nick and I?! These are definitely getting framed! It was so fun having him there with me!
SATURDAY NIGHT // SHOWCASE DESIGNER WINNERS
On Saturday night the Belk tent was transformed once again, this time with the Southern Designer Showcase Winners and their designs! All of their designs are now in every Belk store, so be on the lookout from new stuff from Reece Blaire (my favorites!), Blithe, and Three07, and more! I was especially excited for this night to see all of their hard work come to life. There are a few pieces I have my eyes on!
I had worked with the Reece Blaire girls in the past, so I was happy that I finally got to meet them, catch up….and take selfies with the Official Twitter Mirror! It was such a fun night!
And of course, no trip to Charleston is complete without a trip to Rainbow Row! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to attend Charleston Fashion Week and to represent Belk through it all. I’ll be sharing full outfit details next week!
