I have been meaning to post my updated beauty routine for quite a while now, but for one reason or another I never got around to posting it! Today I wanted to show you what’s in my makeup bag and share my daily makeup routine.
I will be the first to admit I keep a lot of products in my makeup bag. I don’t wear everything at once (haha!) but I like to have it all readily available, especially when traveling. Some days I want more natural makeup and other times I need to wear a “full face” of makeup. I absolutely love this makeup bag because it can hold so much!Click through to read my daily makeup routine.
P.S. None of this is sponsored in any way, these are just products that I use & love and decided to share with y’all!

FACE PREP
There are a few different moisturizers and cleansers that I use, depending on the time of year and my skin’s condition. I have some that I use daily and others I use only when my skin is very dry.
I use Juice Beauty’s Brightening Moisturizer every morning. It has SPF in it and it helps even skin tone and hydrate skin. At night time I use their anti-aging moisturizer. It is a thick formula and is great for soaking into my skin overnight.
During the winter months and occasionally in the warmer months (like when I’m at the beach) I use two different moisturizers to combat my dry skin. BareMinerals Skinlongevity serum and True Oasis gel cream do a great job of rehydrating your skin without leaving you feeling greasy. I used these two products all throughout winter and could tell a noticeable difference in my skin. Another brand that I am a huge fan of is First Aid Beauty. I began using their face cleanser about a year ago and have been singing it’s praises since then! It gets makeup off easily and leaves my skin feeling so clean and refreshed. The Ultra Repair Cream is a wonderful moisturizer for dry skin (face or other areas of your body). It is a thicker formula, so use sparingly or at night!
STEP ONE
Having a great makeup base is extremely important! Below are my go-to products for having that base layer that will last all day!
Before I put on any makeup I use a primer to help conceal fine lines and allow my makeup to last all day. I really like Juice Beauty’s primer. It is a lightweight formula and it has a bit of a shine to it.
If I’m running errands or teaching Pure Barre I will use It! Cosmetics CC Cream. It’s lighter than a foundation, but still gives me the overall coverage I want. It is SPF 50, so it’s a good alternative if you’re going to be outside. If I want more coverage I reach for Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Foundation. Like the name, your skin feels naked. It is so light weight, but provides excellent coverage. Next up I apply my concealer under my eyes and in any other areas needed. I apply all of this using the Beauty Blender. If you don’t have one…. buy one ASAP! It has been life changing in the way my makeup looks when applied with this. I use It! Cosmetics Powder to give a more matte look.
STEP TWO
This may be my favorite step of my makeup routine because it’s the step where I get that all over glow! Each of the below products give a different type of glow depending on what look I am trying to achieve.
I was recently given the opportunity to try Becca’s new blush line and it’s safe to say I was obsessed from the start (I’ll be doing a full review of them next week!) This blush is very pigmented, but gives the most gorgeous definition to your cheeks with an added glow.
MAC’s mineralized pinwheel palette is one I decided to try earlier this year and the colors are absolutely gorgeous. I wear this a lot when I’m going for a more natural look. It provides me with a bit of bronzer without looking overdone.
Perhaps my favorite product of all is Becca’s Skin Perfector Highlighter. I have been using this for over a year and I can’t imagine not having it now! It provides the best glow and works well with the rest of my makeup. It defines my cheekbones and nose incredibly well. I get a lot of questions on how I contour and typically I don’t contour, I just use this product!
CONTOUR
Like I said above, I am not one to contour very often. For the longest time I was actually afraid to contour haha. It was tricky, involved a lot of products, and there were just SO many ways it could go wrong….so I stayed away from it. When I saw this It! Cosmetics Contour Palette I was immediately intrigued and decided to give it a try.
This palette makes it extremely easy to learn to contour. It provides a step by step guide to contouring your face and it even comes with a full guide on contouring your body! If you’ve been wanting to try your hand at contouring, this is definitely the palette to try!
STEP FOUR
One of the last steps is the eyes. This a very important step for me in feeling 100% “ready.” I touched on some of my favorite mascaras last week in this post, so be sure to check it out! I am a total mascara person, I have very long eyelashes, but they are pretty blonde, especially towards the ends. If I don’t wear mascara I don’t look awake haha!
As for eyebrows I really like It! Cosmetics Build-a-Brow. For me it’s easy to use and the brush that goes with it is fantastic in getting the perfect brow. I also really like Anastasia’s Brow Gel. I don’t know about y’all but sometimes I have some pesky eye brow hairs that want to stick out or not stay in place! This gel helps everything stay where it should be all day!
I don’t typically wear eyeshadow, especially not for every day wear, but when I do I use this very natural palette. It doesn’t look over-the-top but gives a nice finishing touch!
STEP FIVE
If I’m being completely honest, I’m not much of a lipstick gal. I like it….on other people. But there are only a few colors I like on myself. Most days I rub on chapstick and I’m out the door. My mom always tells me I need color on my lips because otherwise I look “like a ghost” haha, so when I have to wear lipstick, I go with something natural. This pencil (shade: blushing nude), this lipstick (shade: speak your mind) and this gloss (shade: spark plug) are great for every day wear because they’re natural and go with everything. I always keep this Supergoop! Lip Screen in my bag. It has SPF in it and actually protects your lips when you have lipgloss on!
So there you have it, what’s in my makeup bag & products I use to achieve my daily makeup routine. Although it seems like a lot of products, I never use them all at once (otherwise I would look like a clown haha!) My daily makeup routine takes 15-20 minutes, I’ve gotten it down to a science!! 🙂
If you have any questions about the products I would be happy to answer! I would love to know your go-to products!

thanks for sharing emily. I love seeing what other people carry –Hanna Lei
I hate lipstick too and not much color on my lips but definitely try Nars Hue and you will be hooked. Its the best and doesn’t look overdone like lipstick can do!
