Wedding Wednesday: How I Asked My Bridesmaids

This might just be one of the most fun Wedding Wednesday posts so far! Today I’m excited to share how I asked my bridesmaids (now that they’ve all been asked!) One of the first things we did when we got engaged was form our wedding party. From there we decided how we wanted to ask them and made a plan!

We have seven bridesmaids and groomsmen, which has turned out to be a great number…not too few or too many. All of them are people we are extremely close with and wanted to be by our sides throughout the process and on our wedding day!

I knew I wanted my bridesmaids to feel special from the very beginning, so I decided to create a bridesmaid box and ask them with a few of my favorite things! I was lucky enough to be able to ask four of them in person and was able to send the other three packages since it would be a while before I would see them. Let’s be honest, I wouldn’t have been able to keep a secret that long! I’m so glad that all seven of them said yes ad now the fun stuff can begin!!

Since I knew I wanted to ask them with a box of my favorite things, I started immediately looking online to get ideas! Pinterest had a lot of ideas (which was semi overwhelming) but it gave me a good idea of what I would need to pull it off! P.S. There are sites that offer bridesmaid boxes, but making my own seemed more special and sentimental!

PACKAGING: I ordered my white gift boxes from Amazon Prime (the best site ever!). They come in a ton of different sizes. I ended up ordering a few smaller sizes to fill with vendor gifts, etc. I grabbed some twine and gold stickers from Target to personalize each one.POPPING THE QUESTION: I popped into Swoozie’s one day to see their wedding items (they have soooo many good items!) and found these Marrygrams cards. I ended up ordering custom cards on their site that matched our wedding colors! I wrote a special note to each bridesmaid… and I definitely cried when writing them! Such a special moment. *I clearly have a lot of tears ahead of me since I’m a very emotional girl ha!*WHAT’S INSIDE: I wanted to include a few of my favorite things inside, that also coordinated with our wedding colors. First things first, it had to include a mini bottle of champagne (with a cute straw!) Next, I included my favorite candle by Voluspa. The capri blue candle is in every room in our house and it will be present at our reception. And last, I included a piece from the Kendra Scott bridal collection. My maid and matron of honor received the Elisa necklace and my bridesmaids received the Cade stud earrings

GIMME THE DETAILS: Naturally when you’re asked to be part of someone’s big day you want to know all the details (well all the ones that are available!) I decided to create a postcard (front & back) that included all the details. It helped clue them in on everything from the date, location, wedding colors & a bit about what was included in the box. I personally loved creating this and I think it added an extra touch to the box. I covered the location for privacy reasons. Our wedding website also does not state our ceremony/reception venue for those same reasons.

I’m so excited to be able to get my bridesmaids feedback, advice, and opinions on the *many* questions I have! I am beyond thankful to have them by my side on the best day of my life!

      Hi Rebecca,

Thank you so much! I don’t actually have a template, I just kind of played around with it in Photoshop until I got the desired look (lots of trial and error haha!)

I basically just created a bunch of boxes, lines & text boxes to play around with where I wanted things to go & how I wanted it to look. I saved 2-3 different versions and compared them afterwards to see which I liked better. Then for the back I just changed the wording 🙂 I hope that helps! xx
