Travel with Me on Symphony of the Seas

Last month I was invited aboard Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Symphony of the Seas, for the inaugural U.S. cruise! I have been cruising with Royal Caribbean for years and even had the opportunity to cruise on the inaugural Harmony of the Seas trip in 2016, so I was really looking forward to checking out their newest ship! To say this was the most incredible ship I’ve ever cruised on is a total understatement – every detail was so well done!

Even though our trip was short we packed in a lot – including a bridge tour and a behind the scenes culinary tour – both of which were incredible! I’m so excited to share my trip aboard Symphony of the Seas with y’all today! Scroll through for lots of photos, even more details & a fun video at the bottom of the post!

THE SHIP

I have been on plenty of cruise ships over the years and it’s safe to say this ship is the most incredible and unique of them all! Symphony of the Seas is one of the world’s largest cruise ships and includes a mix of all the great things a ship has to offer, plus a new mix of things that are sure to surprise you! This ship can accommodate 5,500 guests and has 2,200+ staff members aboard the ship to make sure everything is perfect throughout your stay! The ship has the Royal Promenade, a Boardwalk and a Central Park, each filled with their own restaurants, shops, activities, etc. While there are a lot of people aboard the ship, it’s so spacious that it never feels crowded!

I think one of my favorite spots aboard the Symphony of the Seas was the Solarium. It’s an adult-only area filled with chic chairs and lounge areas, a bar, and a very relaxing atmosphere. The Solarium aboard Symphony of the Seas is so different from other ships I have been on and really loved the different approach and feel of it! They even had two outdoor observation decks that were perfect for catching a sunset on! To say this ship is very instagrammable would be an understatement! There are gorgeous views, pretty walls & fun art around every corner!

THINGS TO DO ON THE SHIP

There is certainly no shortage of things to do aboard Symphony of the Seas. Whether you’re looking for relaxation at the spa or a fun adventure on the Ultimate Abyss, you’re sure to have a great time! The seven neighborhoods have everything you could want or need on the ship! A few really great family friendly activities include laser tag, the escape room, many of the shows, and the water slides!

DINING OPTIONS

There are so many dining options on the ship that it can be a bit overwhelming! Pretty much anything you crave they have aboard the ship – everything from quesadillas to specialty ice cream – they’re got you covered! There are over 15 restaurants on the ship and each one is unique in it’s own way! A few of my favorites were Hooked, a seafood restaurant (the lobster roll was amazing!) and Wonderland, an imaginative culinary restaurant!

BEHIND THE SCENES CULINARY EXPERIENCE

Speaking of food, while we were docked in the Bahamas Nick and I did the behind-the-scenes culinary experience! This was something we were both looking forward to and it didn’t disappoint! I have always been very curious about the inner-workings of the galley and how they prep for each cruise. During the hour and a half tour I learned so much about provisions, how they prep for each cruise, the amount of food that’s used in a week, etc. Can you believe that in an average week over 86,000 eggs are consumed, 2,500 bottle of champagne are drank & 16,000 pounds of beef are served?! I was mind blown haha! I was also really impressed at how they will cater to guests needs for dietary restrictions and holiday meals. if you’re like me and have been curious about this, I highly suggest doing this tour because it was really informative and fun.

BEHIND THE SCENES – BRIDGE TOUR

After we finished up with the galley tour we headed to the bridge to meet the Captain, learn a bit more about the ship & see how everything worked! The Captain of Symphony of the Seas is one of the only U.S. Captains on Royal Caribbean ships! He was so friendly, down to earth & knowledgeable! We had a great group on the tour & we all ended up asking a lot of different questions, so I felt like I walked away with a lot of info on everything! I had never been on a bridge tour and I’m glad that we decided to do it!

I hope you enjoyed my recap on Symphony of the Seas! You can watch my Youtube video below!

Disney Cruise Line is the best, as far as mass-produced cruises. First class all the way.
