If you have been following along for a while, then you’re probably familiar with my #bloggersdotravel gals! We all met many, many years ago and have been traveling together for the past 5+ years! Over the years the five of us have become extremely close and have been there through many milestone moments like engagements, weddings, and now pregnancy! It’s really special to me that I not only have wonderful friends with this industry, but that we have all formed a great personal friendships as well!
Though we have traveled many places together, we all have a soft spot for Charleston and try to plan a girls trip there every year! Typically we stay along the peninsula in downtown Charleston, but this year we decided to switch it up and go across the bridge to The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor & Resort.
The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor
Staying across the bridge in Mt. Pleasant was a first for us, but it’s safe to say The Beach Club didn’t disappoint! Located right on the harbor with proximity to Patriots Point and the USS Yorktown, the resort is a beautiful oasis that provides a lot of amenities and it’s the perfect place to call home while on vacation! The hotel itself has a beautiful nautical theme and has quintessential southern touches throughout like rocking chairs, wrap around porches & cozy robes! In case you still need convincing, the resort was just just recognized by Conde Nast Traveler as the #1 resort in South Carolina and #2 in the south!
There is no shortage of amenities at The Beach Club! Whether you’re looking to relax poolside (with a view of the Harbor), grab a drink at the tiki bar, or get pampered at the spa, there’s plenty to do here. This resort would be a great family trip, couples trip or girls trip! We had a great time hanging by the pool, having happy hour at the tiki bar & spending mornings watching the boats from our porch! The resort is also the only waterfront resort, complete with it’s own beach! Between all of their amenities and being only 10-15 minutes from downtown they truly have it all! If you’re looking to go downtown, the resort offers a free shuttle for their guests or you can take a water taxi across!
Charleston in the fall
This is the second or third time when we have visited in the fall and I can’t recommend it enough! Although many people imagine Charleston in the summer, I think I actually prefer it in the fall. There’s less humidity, it’s not nearly as crowded & it’s easy to soak up all that The Holy City has to offer. The weather while we were there was absolutely perfect. Mornings and evenings were a bit chilly and called for sweaters or light layers, while the days were sunny and gorgeous! We spend one morning walking along the Marina, followed by heading downtown to do some shopping, eat at 167 Raw and stroll around the city. If you’re looking for a few off-the-beaten-path Charleston restaurants check out Baker’s Bar, a speakeasy pizza spot that doesn’t allow cellphones, or Perlieu, a European inspired bistro. Nothing better than having Kristin, a Charleston local, pick dinner spots!
