My October 2019 Monthly Recap

It’s time for another monthly recap. Take a peek at previous recaps here

Highlights

Did October fly by for anyone else?! October was a pretty busy month and I felt like there wasn’t much down time, though I’m not complaining! October started off with a road trip to Knoxville, Tennessee with some friends! We stayed at RT Lodge and it was adorable. It was such a fun trip and I’m thinking it would be the perfect weekend trip with Nick next fall! A few days after I returned from Tennessee I hopped on a plane for a trip to Charleston with my #bloggersdotravel gals (more on that tomorrow!). We try to do a Charleston trip at least once a year and it’s always SO much fun! The rest of the month consisted of going to the pumpkin patch, brunching with friends & relaxing! At the end of the month Nick and I celebrated our TWO year anniversary! We went to Katharine Brasserie for dinner because we had been wanting to try it for a while and it didn’t disappoint! We will definitely be going back in the future – the oysters and entrees were great & we loved the atmosphere.

Home

This month we found a sideboard for our dining room. We had been looking for months for something we liked (while not spending $$$$) and stumbled upon a great piece at a nice consignment store here called The Red Collection. We loved the style of it even though the finish didn’t match our dining set. We decided to strip, sand & stain the piece to match our dining room furniture. What we originally thought as a weekend project quickly turned into a three weekend project haha. It was a beast of a project and although it was REALLY frustrating at times, I love the way it turned out. I’ll be sure to share pics soon!

This month we are adding wainscoting to our dining room & giving it a fresh paint job. We are going with a bold color and I can’t waaaait to see the final result.

Books I read this month

Even though October was a busy month, I managed to read ten books & had a really great reading month! I’m a bit delayed in getting up my reading list since it is so long, but it will be up in a few days! My favorite books of the month were The Grace Year and The Most Fun We Ever Had.

What I purchased

A new crisp white blousenothing better than a good white top!
This cozy PJ set | I am in love with these & they are definitely cozy.
This chandelier for our dining room | Crossing my fingers that we love it!

I started a million little things when it first came out but didn’t stick with it. I’ve been seeing the commercials and now I want to go back and finish.
