My Monthly Recap – June 2020

It’s time for another monthly recap. Take a peek at previous recaps here!

highlights

Although June was much like the last few months of quarantine, it was also quite busy. After months spent at home sheltering in place, we finally had things to look forward to outside of our house! It’s funny because I used to take running errands, going to dinner with friends and seeing family for granted… not anymore! In June we had our “drive by” baby shower hosted by my parents. Although it wasn’t how we originally planned to celebrate baby Wilkinson, it turned out to be a really great time! Our guests got to stop by, see us and catch up from a distance and shower us with love! We hadn’t seen a lot of our guests since February (or before!) so it was nice to see so many people we have missed. It was truly a great day, despite COVID precautions!June also provided us with some really nice weather to be outdoors and we ended up spending many afternoons and evenings by the lake! We’re members of a marina and we love going and sitting by the water! We took Avett a few times to get him accustomed to boats and the water – he’s still unsure of boats though haha!

home

We have officially been in our home for a year now! We have done so much in a year’s time and have so many more plans for things we would like to do in the coming months and years! It’s amazing how small changes over time can make such an impact on a home. In June we focused on finishing last minute quarantine projects and making sure our house is organized so that we can relax a bit before baby arrives in July! A few weekends ago we painted all of the doors and our trim upstairs white. When we purchased our home last year all of the trim was a light cream color. As time went on it drove me more and more crazy, so we have slowly been painting it room by room ha! It’s a tedious project, but happy that we have it (mostly) finished!

baby Wilkinson

June marked one month until baby boy’s arrival so we really kicked things into gear to make sure we were ready for him! My dad came up and we finished his nursery, which turned out SO well. If you recall from my nursery inspiration post we were initially going to be doing bead board or board and batten to the walls, but we ended up adding chair rail and painting the bottom portion white instead. It looks really clean and although we had to pivot I love the result! I’ll be sharing the full reveal at some point!

books I read this month

I didn’t read as much as I had hoped this month, but I still was able to read 7 books, most of which I enjoyed! If you’re looking for a few good books to add to your list, I suggest The Last Flight, Home Before Dark & Pretty Things! You can see my reviews in this post!

what I purchased

Once again, I haven’t been shopping too much since we have no where to go! The items I have mostly been ordering have been for the baby, for postpartum care or items for our hospital bag! my Amazon orders have been SO random lately!

these chic face masks | Since face masks aren’t going anywhere anytime soon I purchased these so that I can always have a clean one on hand. They’re made of swimsuit material so they’re really breathable. They are also reversible and fit my face well.
this floral dress | I ordered this for our maternity photos and it’s so gorgeous in person! It can easily be worn nine months pregnant and will still look great post baby, too!
this table and these chairs | ordered this table & 4 chairs for our kitchen nook recently. This space is tricky but these ended up looking great in the space!

It sounds like June was a really lovely month for you, which is great! I was hopeful that you’d get the opportunity to be out and about – to some degree – before your pregnancy was over. I’m glad you were able to enjoy that. Sending you lots of love for this big and exciting month!
