Can you believe there’s only two weeks until Christmas? I have been looking *so* forward to the holiday season since this is Noah’s first Christmas. There’s something about having a baby that makes the holidays so much more magical. He loves looking at the tree and the lights! Our families started asking for gift ideas for him months ago and truthfully I was stumped. What do you get a five month old who won’t even remember his first Christmas, you know?! Then I started doing a bit of research and put together a big list of items he will need for the next six to seven months! So if you’re stumped like I was, here’s a great list of gift ideas for babies under one year old! You may not have a baby, but if you have friends with kids or have nieces or nephews, this list should help. A lot of these items we either own, purchased for Noah or our families are getting him! You can see my other gift guides HERE.
gift ideas for babies under 1
- EZPZ SILICONE SUCTION BOWL WITH PLACEMAT | Noah will be starting solids (doing a mix of purees and baby led weaning) soon, so we got a few different EZPZ pieces to help with it. My friends who have older babies said these are great because they’re easy to clean, BPA and phthalate free and the suction is helpful when they get into the “throw everything” phase ha!
- FAT BRAIN TOYS DIMPL | This toy is colorful and great for sensory development. It helps encourage fine motor skills, sensory exploration and cause-and-effect learning. We grabbed this and are putting it in Noah’s stocking.
- POTTERY BARN KIDS ANYWHERE CHAIR | This is the perfect item to get babies for their first Christmas!
- HOODED SHERPA PRAM | We have a few of these for Noah and they are so cozy (wish they came in adult sizes haha!). They keep him really warm when we go on walks.
- SKIPHOP 3-IN-1 ACTIVITY CENTER | This activity center has three different stages to grow with your child. Santa is bringing Noah this activity center and I think he’s going to love it.
- WOODEN WALK WITH BLOCKS | This Montessori style wooden walker is wonderful for those who are learning to walk. It helps encourage balance and imaginative play. I think this would be a cute way to store toys as well.
- PLAYMAT | I love that this playmate doesn’t look like a typical kid’s playmat. I think we are going to order one once Noah is a bit more mobile.
- WOODLAND PLAY MAT | This would be a great mat for tummy time or milestone photos.
- CUSTOM NAME PUZZLE | These puzzles make great gifts. We got Noah the name puzzle and the ABC puzzle.
- ELEGANT BABY ELEPHANT | This little elephant toy is just adorable!
- MUSLIN BLANKET | We love these blankets because they are thicker than swaddles and work great for the stroller. These are exclusive Disney prints and are adorable!
- MUSHIE SILICONE BIB | These are must-have bibs when starting babies on solids! They’re easy to clean and they have a pocket to help catch food messes.
- BOARD BOOKS | You can never go wrong gifting books. We love the Llama Llama series and Sandra Boynton books.
- GIRAFFE LARGE PLUSH TOY | This toy would look so adorable in a nursery!
- COLORFUL FLIPFISH TOY | This toy is perfect for babies learning fine motor skills. It features different prints, colors, and textures for them to explore.
- ZUTANO BOOTIES | These booties are not only warm for baby’s feet, they actually stay put! We love these and never have to worry about them falling off.
- FAT BRAIN TOBBLES STACKING TOYS | These stacking toys are great for helping with motor skills!
- SKIP HOP EXPLORE & MORE BEE | This is a three-stage toy, meaning it can be used for tummy time, pre-crawling, and crawling.
- SOFT BLOCKS | These blocks are wonderful for little learners because they can’t hurt themselves on these like they could with wooden blocks!
- TEETHING TOY | This teether is ideal for baby’s hands because there are multiple grabbing points. It’s easy to clean and it’s a non-choking design.
- LOVEVERY SUBSCRIPTION | We have gotten the lovevery play kits since Noah was born and I can’t say enough great things about them! They are stage based learning boxes and each box comes with numerous developmental toys and a play guide that explains milestones and how to play with your baby at this stage. These are by and far his favorite toys!
