It’s time for another monthly recap. Take a peek at previous recaps here!
highlights
It’s only the first week of January, but December already feels like a lifetime ago! While the holiday season looked a lot different this year, we really tried to make the best of it and make it a special first Christmas for Noah… and that it was! Even though Noah was only five months this Christmas, it was really special starting family traditions with him that we will be able to continue for many years to come. It was precious seeing him get excited to look at the Christmas lights and ornaments (all unbreakable!) and be so intrigued by wrapping paper! It was really fun to play Santa and I 100% understand why our parents were always so exhausted on Christmas Day haha! A lot goes into making everything so magical for children! Nick and I are already so excited for next Christmas when he will be a little older and will understand it a bit more!

baby Noah
Noah turned five months on the 21st and this has been one of the best months with him! Each day his personality comes out more & more and it’s the best thing! He is such a happy baby and smiles all the time. He is constantly making sounds and noises. He’s sleeping really well and has been sleeping through the night from 7p.m. to 7a.m. for quite a while! Obviously we have crazy days where naps are non existent or he wakes in the night, but overall we have been so lucky with his sleeping. I’ll have a blog post up later this month with a six month update!
home
Nothing really new on the home front this month! Life has been a little chaotic that we haven’t really had a moment for projects. We have a few things we would like to do later this winter and into spring, but who knows if/when we will get the time! For now, we are just enjoying our time with Noah and doing things as we can! We are going to be adding a “play room” of sorts for Noah in our current guest room. We don’t use that room often and with all of his toys and stuff we figured we might as well make better use of the space. We are still going to keep a guest bed for when guests visit, but it will be used as a play room day to day.
books I read this month
I ended the month reading five books! I really enjoyed all of them and was happy to end the year on a good note! You can see all the books I read this month in my December reading list. I also rounded up my favorite reads of 2020. If you’re looking for some good books to add to your list this year, be sure to check out that post!
what I purchased
I honestly haven’t been doing much shopping lately! I mean, we aren’t really leaving the house, so I don’t have a real reason to shop! I have picked up a few random things though…
–A new 2021 planner | I love getting ready for the new year with a new planner. I really like this one and it wasn’t expensive! I will never not be a paper planner gal!
–Baby Self-Feeding Book | I ordered this book as we transition to solids with Noah. This is a whole new world to me and it’s a bit overwhelming to be honest, so I’m looking forward to reading this as a guide. We have introduced him to oatmeal and a few purees and will do a form of baby led weaning when we feel he’s ready!
–Leopard print headband | this headband is less than $10 and it’s great for days when I want to throw my hair up and not worry about it!
favorite posts I read this month
Jessica’s top products of 2020 | I always love seeing what people love throughout the year! I really want a pair of the Barefoot Dreams socks now!
Cathy’s can’t-live-without massager | If there’s one thing I need lately it’s a back and neck massager. *adds to cart*
10 Amazon items Ashley loved this year | I love a good Amazon find!
current favorites on repeat
- BEAUTY: it’s gotten so cold & I have been relying on this lotion to keep my hands hydrated. I love that it absorbs well and doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy.
- CLOTHING: this pair of denim are my current favorites. They are so comfortable & have the perfect amount of stretch.
- TV SHOWS: We started re-watching Parenthood & I love it so much! The Braverman’s are my favorite TV family and I enjoy watching it again. We finished watching The Queen’s Gambit over the holidays and it was certainly worth the hype. Next up is Bridgerton for me!
- AUDIOBIOOK: I am currently listening to Boyfriend Material, I’m not very far into it but it’s a cute book so far.
- CURRENTLY READING: I’m currently reading Before She Disappeared and I am flying through it. Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite authors and I will always read her books! You can pre-order it now – it’s out on 1/19!
